On October 15, 2025, Baku Eurasian University (BAAU), in collaboration with Scholar Worldwide (SCHWLAR), launched the 11th International Conference on the Convergence of Applied and Human Sciences – “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Convergence of Applied and Human Sciences: Interdisciplinary Approaches Leading to Innovation” (CASHIPI-25).
The main goal of the conference is to discuss the integration of applied and human sciences through artificial intelligence and to promote scientific, technological, and social innovations in this field.
The opening ceremony began with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Iraq, followed by introductory videos presenting Baku Eurasian University and Scholar Worldwide.
In his welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Sayavush Gasimov, Rector of BAAU, highlighted the scientific and practical significance of the conference and emphasized the transformative role of artificial intelligence in contemporary science and society. He noted that the education sector stands at the forefront of this transformation, as AI technologies are increasingly being integrated into teaching, assessment, and management across universities worldwide. According to UNESCO’s 2024 report, more than 45 percent of higher education institutions globally already utilize AI tools in their academic processes.
Prof. Murad Al Abdullah, Director of Scholar Worldwide, underlined the importance of the event in fostering international collaboration and academic exchange.
In her address, Assoc. Prof. Sevda Rzayeva, BAAU’s Vice-Rector for International Relations, emphasized that expanding the university’s participation in global scientific platforms is among its strategic priorities and noted the contribution of such events to scientific integration.
Assoc. Prof. Ulviyya Huseynova, Head of the Center for Arabic Studies, also delivered a speech within the conference framework, sharing her insights on the relevance of the topic and research opportunities in the field.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Ahmed Saddam, presented a paper titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Future Development of Iraq–Azerbaijan Economic Relations,” offering an analytical overview of the existing potential and prospects in this area.
At the end of the opening ceremony, several participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their scientific and organizational contributions. The event continued with a cultural program.
The CASHIPI-25 International Conference will continue on October 15–16 with various scientific sessions dedicated to interdisciplinary research and innovation.
