At Baku Eurasian University (BAAU), within the framework of the “Cities of the Future” Youth Week organized as part of the Azerbaijan Urban Planning Campaign on the road to the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, a seminar titled “Urban Future: Towards Smart Cities” was held with the joint organization of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union (ATGTI) and the Student Youth Organization (TGT) of the university.
The event opened with a speech by BAAU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Sevda Rzayeva. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of the seminar and highlighted the strategic role of modern urbanization processes and the smart city concept for society.
Following the opening remarks, representatives of various organizations delivered presentations. Emin Huseynzade, Communication Manager of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company, shared his views on sustainable urban development and innovative approaches to creating modern urban environments.
Bakhtiyar Guluzade, Program Manager of ATGTI, emphasized the importance of youth participation in urban development processes and provided detailed information about the “Cities of the Future” Youth Week, its objectives, and the activities carried out within its framework. In his speech, he noted that the main goal of the initiative is to increase young people’s interest in urban planning and architecture, promote innovative approaches, and expand awareness-raising activities in this field.
Within the framework of the seminar lecturers from the Economics Department at BAAU, delivered speeches addressing issues related to urban planning, ecological balance, and the application of innovative solutions.
The seminar was met with great interest by the participants, followed by an extensive exchange of ideas on the topic. The event concluded with answers to participants’ questions.
