The large-scale ecological campaign “Protect the Caspian!”, which has been held in Azerbaijan for over 16 years, concluded on September 20 at Bilgah Beach in Baku. With the support of partners, participants have cleaned up a total of 1,650 kg of waste from Caspian beaches in Lankaran, Astara, Neftchala, Khachmaz, Siyazan, and Sumgayit between September 1 and 20. The campaign aims to improve the ecological situation in the country, raise public awareness, and promote responsible environmental habits. Collected waste during the campaign is sorted and sent for recycling. Students of Baku Eurasian University voluntarily and actively participated in this year’s campaign, contributing to the cleanup efforts and promoting environmental awareness among the youth. The “Protect the Caspian!” campaign was organized within the framework of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, celebrated worldwide. Established in 1986, this day is observed in more than 100 countries and represents the largest international volunteer movement aimed at cleaning waterbody shores. For 16 years, Azerbaijan has actively participated under the slogan “Protect the Caspian!”
