The “KitabLab” project has been launched at Baku Eurasian University (BAAU), organized by the university’s Career and Training Center (CTC). Within the framework of the project, the first meeting was held between the Rector of BAAU, Associate Professor Seyavush Gasimov, and writer, philosopher-orientalist, trainer, and psychologist Rovshan Abdullaoglu, as well as Shohlat Ikhtiyaroglu, Director of Qedim Gala Publishing House. The meeting focused on increasing students’ interest in books and reading, as well as discussing opportunities for cooperation aimed at enriching the university’s intellectual and cultural environment.

Rector S. Gasimov emphasized the importance the university attaches to the intellectual development of students and the strengthening of their reading habits. He noted that the “KitabLab” project is one of the important steps taken in this direction and expressed confidence that it would be beneficial for students.

R. Abdullaoglu and Sh. Ikhtiyaroglu highly appreciated BAAU’s efforts as a higher education institution in promoting reading and intellectual culture and expressed their wish for the project’s continuity. They also noted their satisfaction in supporting the development of reading culture and fostering students’ interest in literature.

At the end of the meeting, R. Abdullaoglu was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Rector S. Gasimov for his valuable and enlightening interaction with BAAU students.

Later, a meeting between writer R. Abdullaoglu and his readers was held at the BAAU Library and Information Center. The event was attended by academic and administrative staff, as well as undergraduate and graduate students. During the meeting, engaging discussions took place about the author’s life and creative work. Participants asked questions about his psychological and philosophical writings, as well as his books translated into different languages. R. Abdullaoglu spoke about the writing process, main themes, and the messages he aims to convey to readers, highlighting the importance of reading for both individuals and society. The meeting attracted great interest, and the author signed copies of his books for readers at the end.

As part of the “KitabLab” project, a book fair organized by Qedim Gala Publishing House was held at the university on February 19–20, 2025. The fair featured books in various genres — fiction, science, psychology, business, and personal development. Students and faculty members participated in the exhibition and purchased books of interest to them.

In the coming months, additional book fairs with the participation of various publishing houses are planned to be held within the framework of the “KitabLab” project. The main goal of the project is to promote a culture of reading among students, enable direct interaction between authors and readers, and further strengthen the university’s intellectual environment.

It should be noted that this project, implemented by the BAAU Career and Training Center, aligns with the **Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)** by contributing to the **scientific, cultural, and intellectual development of youth (SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 11: Sustainable Communities)**.
