The 2nd International "R&D" Project Competition, jointly organized by Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) and Kazakhstan National Girls’ Pedagogical University, and hosted by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in Turkey, has concluded. During the award ceremony held at the end of the competition, prizes were presented to the winners in the academic staff, student, and entrepreneur categories.
Participants in the project competition came from six different universities across Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. Over the two-day competition, a total of 61 projects were presented, including 46 from students, 11 from academic staff, and 4 from the entrepreneur category. The projects were evaluated by a jury of experts, and the most successful projects were awarded. Several special awards were also presented during the event.
BAAU’s third-year students of the “Information Technologies” program, Elcan Hüseynzadə and Rəhiməxanım Babayeva, received a special award from the jury for their joint project, “MediLink,” which demonstrated innovative technical learning and application of knowledge in real-world contexts.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, Rector of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, noted that the 2nd International "R&D" Project Competition was successfully held alongside the International Turkish World Research Symposium this year. He emphasized that the competition exceeded expectations in terms of both participant profiles and the diversity and quality of the projects, fostering equitable opportunities for learning and skills development.
The Rector stated that the competition, conducted in three separate categories—academic staff, students, and entrepreneurs—featured valuable, innovative, and future-oriented projects. He added that the ideas proposed and projects developed offer great hope for the future, contributing to economic growth, sustainable development, and youth employment. Concluding his speech, the Rector thanked all project authors who participated courageously and congratulated all participants who earned the right to receive awards, reinforcing equity and accessible education in tertiary education.
