The final stage of the “Finding Innovative & Creative Solutions (FICS)” international competition, jointly organized by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), was held on May 27, 2025. Two student teams from Baku Eurasian University (BAAU), “AWA Green” and “TerraScan,” participated in the event, organized by BAAU’s Science, Innovation, and Doctoral Studies Sector. The members of the “AWA Green” team were Kamran Kazımlı, Süleymanzadə Əli, Ayxan Osmanov, Rəhiməxanım Babayeva, and Elşən Quliyev, while the members of the “TerraScan” team were Əli Şixəli and Elcan Hüseynzadə. Both teams actively engaged in this international competition, demonstrating innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills.
During the event, our student teams presented their startup projects, which were evaluated by a professional jury representing both the industry and education sectors. This provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and skills development, contributing to youth employment, economic empowerment, and sustainable growth. By participating, students applied technical and vocational learning in real-world contexts, promoting sustainable and equitable innovation.
It should be noted that FICS (Finding Innovative & Creative Solutions) has been the largest startup competition in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan since 2013. The competition aims to develop global thinking, foster sustainable technological solutions, and encourage entrepreneurial and green growth initiatives. This was the first time BAAU teams participated, marking an important step in integrating practical learning, eco-innovation, and equitable opportunities into higher education.
