On March 16, a scientific-practical event titled “From Water to Sustainability: Climate Change and Water Resources Management” was organized on the occasion of World Water Day through the joint initiative of the Department of International Relations and Project Management and the Department of Business and Management at Baku Eurasian University.
Delivering opening remarks, BAAU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Sevda Rzayeva, and Head of the Department of Business and Management, Associate Professor Matanat Gurbanova, emphasized the importance of the event and highlighted that the protection and efficient management of water resources are among the key priorities of the modern era.
During the event, Atakhan Badalov, Head of the Water Use Control Department of the State Control Service for Water Use and Protection under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, delivered a presentation on “From Water Scarcity to Water Sustainability”, providing information on current challenges and possible solutions.
Representatives of the Strategic Development Department, Narmin Seyidova and Narmin Huseynova, also made presentations on the impact of climate change on water resources, as well as innovative approaches to sustainable water resource management, including membrane technologies and smart management systems.
Following the presentations, faculty members of the Department of Business and Management of and students delivered speeches related to the topic.
The event concluded with an exchange of views among participants, who emphasized the importance of enhancing public awareness and promoting sustainable approaches to the protection and management of water resources.
