  • 08 Oct 2024

On October 8, 2024, Baku Eurasian University’s (BAAU) Translation Department faculty and fourth-year students specializing in French visited the “Trash to treasure” Museum at the “Gala” State Historical-Ethnographic Reserve as part of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" initiative to raise ecological awareness and cultural engagement.

During the visit, they viewed items and artworks made from recycled materials. The museum aims to educate visitors about the consequences of environmental pollution from waste and demonstrate the potential for repurposing waste through recycling. Exhibits were crafted using plastic bottles, bags, batteries, paper, and metal scraps. Leyla Malikova, a senior lecturer at the BAAU Translation Department, discussed the decomposition periods of waste and environmental issues in relation to pollution, as well as initiatives in Azerbaijan supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and efficient use of natural resources and renewable energy.
