Students from Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) visited the Training Center of “Azerenerji” JSC as part of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" initiative, focused on one of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, "Clean and Affordable Energy," and the COP29 Climate Change Framework Convention.
During the visit, students learned about the Training Center’s role in organizing various training and seminars to enhance the skills of “Azerenerji” employees and providing internship opportunities for students and graduates in relevant fields. Rəşad Əbilov, a center employee, provided an overview of green energy and its potential applications in the country, emphasizing the importance of hydroelectric plants in liberated territories declared as green zones. He explained that green energy initiatives aim to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental protection through renewable energy.
Following this, Səxavət Mirzəyev from “Azerenerji” presented on COP29’s significance for Azerbaijan, the benefits of renewable energy for ecological safety and sustainability, and ongoing efforts to include power stations in Karabakh’s green energy zone.
Students’ questions were answered, and a discussion was held. BAAU is hosting a series of events within the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" framework.
