The “Camp Leader” program, jointly organized by the Ministries of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Türkiye, has been successfully implemented.

More than 300 young people and students from Azerbaijan applied to participate in the program. Out of them, 80 participants were selected for the first stage, which took place from September 4 to 9 in Quba, where they attended a series of trainings and activities. Following this stage, 40 participants advanced to the second stage, held from September 19 to 25 at the Karacaali Youth Camp in Bursa, Türkiye. Among these finalists were three active students from Baku Eurasian University (BAAU).

In the second stage of the program, Shakir Garayev, a fourth-year student majoring in International Relations at the Faculty of Regional Studies and Economics; Aysu Mammadova, a fourth-year student majoring in Finance; and Kamran Kazimli, a second-year student majoring in Regional Studies (U.S. and Canada), represented BAAU with distinction.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in training sessions on various topics aimed at developing young professionals’ leadership skills for organizing youth camps. They received both theoretical and practical knowledge in program design and management, teamwork and leadership development, effective communication, as well as the organization of cultural and sports activities.

In alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, the program contributed to enhancing youth employment prospects and economic empowerment by strengthening participants’ practical and leadership skills. It encouraged a mindset of entrepreneurship and innovation among young people, supporting the long-term goals of sustainable development and green growth. By investing in human capital, such initiatives play a key role in preparing future workers and leaders for the evolving labor market and promoting sustainable economic growth across both nations.

At the end of the program, all participants were awarded certificates and gifts in recognition of their successful participation.
