BAAU Representatives Participate in the 10th International Congress on Turkish Culture in Ankara

The 10th International Congress on Turkish Culture, themed “Turkish Culture in the Second Century of Our Republic,” was held in Ankara, Türkiye, organized by the Atatürk Culture Center under the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History.

The congress brought together distinguished scholars from 30 countries, featuring 130 academic presentations that explored the historical and contemporary development of Turkish culture and civilization.

In addition to academic sessions, the event hosted exhibitions and performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic world, including the “Usturlap” exhibition, traditional theatrical performances, the “Seljuk Crown Gates” exhibition, and film screenings, all of which attracted great interest from participants.

Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) was represented at the congress by Professor Elmira Mammadova-Kekech, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani and World Literature, Doctor of Philology, and Dr. Ayten Abbasova, Senior Lecturer at the same department.

Professor Elmira Mammadova-Kekech delivered a presentation titled “Comparative Literature in Azerbaijan in the Context of Intercultural Dialogue,” discussing the interconnections between Azerbaijani literature and global literary trends.

Dr. Ayten Abbasova presented a paper on “The Status of Women in a Patriarchal Society in Leyla Erbil’s Novel ‘A Strange Woman’,” analyzing the sociocultural dimensions of female representation in Turkish literature.
