On April 30, 2025, a scientific seminar dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was organized by the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkic Languages of the Faculty of Philology at Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) as part of the “SDG Week” initiative.  The event, held in the university’s conference hall, brought together professors, academic staff, and students of BAAU to engage in academic exchange around SDG 4: Quality Education—a goal that promotes equitable, inclusive, and lifelong learning opportunities for all.  The seminar was inaugurated by Associate Professor Zamina Rustambayli, Head of the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkic Languages, who addressed the students on the significance of the event. Subsequently, Associate Professor Sevda Rzayeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations, took the floor and provided the participants with comprehensive information about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 17 objectives of sustainable development, stressing the centrality of education for sustainable development, environmental education, and climate change education in building peaceful and just societies.  The seminar continued with a presentation by Professor Adalat Tahirzada from the Department of Theoretical Linguistics and Turkic Languages. Drawing on Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Quality Education,” Prof. Tahirzada delivered a lecture entitled “Supporting the Digitalization of the Modern Education System through the Development of Electronic Resources in the Azerbaijani Language,” reflecting the role of linguistics in sustainable development. The presentation demonstrated how linguistic resources can contribute to universal literacy, basic literacy, and universal numeracy, while also supporting free, primary, secondary, and tertiary education. In his lecture, Prof. Tahirzada also emphasized the importance of accessible education and the promotion of equitable, inclusive, and quality lifelong learning opportunities for all.   The presentation was met with great interest by the participants, followed by a question-and-answer session and fruitful discussions where themes such as vocational and technical learning, early childhood development, and the integration of anti-oppression and anti-racism frameworks into education were explored.
