On April 29, 2025, the second event within the framework of SDG Week organized by the Department of Translation at Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) was a roundtable dedicated to the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal – "Good Health and Well-being."
At the opening of the roundtable, the Acting Head of the Department of Translation, Senior Lecturer Nigar Aliyeva, emphasized the importance of the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal and highlighted the relevance of medical translation in addressing global health, health care, and health education challenges. She noted that accurate translation plays a critical role in promoting health equity, communicable disease prevention, mental wellness, reproductive health, and public health awareness.
Following the opening speech, reports aligned with the SDGs were presented by Senior Lecturers Gunay Khaligova, Vafa Huseynli, and Lecturer Irina Eyvazova, covering topics such as neonatal and infant mortality, substance abuse prevention, family planning, and health determinants.
Students of the Translation major – Farhad Talibov, Ismayil Ismayilzada, and Laman Manafli – also delivered presentations, highlighting how translation contributes to disseminating information on vaccines, illness prevention, mental health, and health education.
The roundtable, which was met with great interest by participants, concluded with discussions on advancing well-being, health literacy, and universal health coverage. Presenters were recognized with letters of appreciation for their contributions to raising awareness of critical health issues.
