Non-discrimination Policy of Baku Eurasian University
Policy Statement:
Baku Eurasian University is committed to creating a learning and working environment that promotes equality, respect, and non-discrimination. We firmly uphold the principles of gender equality and are dedicated to eliminating all forms of discrimination, including gender-based discrimination, against women in all aspects of university life.
Scope:
This policy applies to all members of Baku Eurasian University, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors, regardless of their gender identity or expression.
Policy Objectives:
Prevention of Discrimination: The university shall not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment of women, and will take proactive measures to prevent such behaviors within the university community.
Equal Opportunities: The university is committed to providing equal opportunities for women in all academic, administrative, and extracurricular activities, ensuring their full and meaningful participation.
Education and Awareness: The university shall engage in educational programs and awareness campaigns to promote a deeper understanding of gender equality, gender roles, and the harmful effects of discrimination. These programs aim to foster a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.
Reporting and Redress: The university will establish clear mechanisms for reporting incidents of discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment. Complaints will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken against perpetrators.
Support Services: The university provides support services, counseling, and resources to individuals who have experienced discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment. These services aim to empower women and ensure their well-being.
Review and Evaluation:
This policy will be periodically reviewed to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Feedback from stakeholders will be considered in updating the policy and related procedures.
By upholding this policy, Baku Eurasian University affirms its commitment to fostering a culture of equality, respect, and non-discrimination, and to empowering women in all aspects of university life.
Regarding protecting those reporting discriminations from
educational or employment disadvantage
It is the policy of Baku Eurasian University to maintain an academic and work environment free of discrimination and harassment for all students, faculty, and staff. Discrimination and harassment are contrary to the standards of Baku Eurasian University. They diminish individual dignity and impede educational opportunities, equal access to freedom of academic inquiry, and equal employment. Discrimination and harassment are barriers to fulfilling the University’s scholarly, research, educational and service missions. Discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, marital status, disability, religion, height, weight cannot be tolerated at Baku Eurasian University. Under this policy, discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression is also prohibited. In terms of protecting those who report discrimination from educational or employment disadvantage University implement below-mentioned guidelines.
Implementation Guidelines:
Training: The university provides regular training to faculty, staff, and students on issues related to gender equality, non-discrimination, and sensitivity towards women’s rights.
Inclusive Curriculum: The university strives to integrate gender perspectives into its curriculum, research, and teaching materials, fostering an environment that challenges gender stereotypes and biases.
Reporting Mechanisms: The university has established clear and accessible channels for reporting incidents of discrimination or harassment, ensuring the confidentiality and protection of individuals who come forward.
Investigation and Accountability: All reported incidents will be promptly and thoroughly investigated. Appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken against individuals found guilty of discrimination or harassment.
Supportive Services: The university will offer counseling, support, and resources to individuals who have experienced discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment, aiming to provide a safe space for recovery and empowerment.
Collaboration: The university will collaborate with women’s organizations, gender equality advocates, and relevant stakeholders to continuously improve its policies, programs, and practices.
Baku Eurasian University Policy of non-discrimination for transgender people
Almost all social institutions have a role to play in helping the transgender community to be part of the mainstream through various measures. The education system has a seminal role not only in empowering them by providing a congenial atmosphere for continuing their education, but also in sensitizing the society that the persons belonging to the transgender community need our care and consideration.
As a consequence, Baku Eurasian University has formulated a policy to help students and staff belonging to the transgender community to pursue their education and career without any social discrimination.
The university acknowledges that everyone has the right to be treated with respect and dignity, including transgender and non-binary individuals. It is strictly forbidden to discriminate on the basis of gender identity or expression.
Objectives of the policy:
Baku Eurasian University takes the initiative to give an orientation to the teaching and non-teaching community regarding the issues of transgenders.
Admissions Policy Statement
A varied and inclusive learning environment is something that BAAU is dedicated to promoting. Because of our nondiscriminatory admissions policy and adherence to equal opportunity principles, all applicants are evaluated on the basis of their qualifications and merits, regardless of their socioeconomic background, gender, race, religion, disability or nationality. As allowed by law, BAAU takes positive action steps where necessary to advance fair access for underrepresented groups.

Reasonable accommodation strategy for persons with disability
For all employees and students, including those with disabilities, our institution is dedicated to creating a welcoming and accessible atmosphere. To help with this, we have installed a wheelchair ramp appropriate slopes and handrails at building entrance, made sure the elevator is accessible and has Braille panels, and installed special keyboards with Braille for people who are visually impaired. Doorways, corridors are wide enough and free from obstacles to accommodate wheelchairs, walkers. These modifications support our commitment to equal access by enabling everyone to securely and independently navigate and use campus facilities. BAAU maintains its dedication to accessibility and diversity by establishing an atmosphere that accommodates a range of needs, thereby cultivating a community that is encouraging to everyone. For all employees and students, including those with disabilities, our institution is dedicated to creating a welcoming and accessible atmosphere.
