Energy efficiency policy

.

MISSION: The purpose contains efficiently and properly utilizing of energy resources at Baku Eurasian University campus. Using of energy sources efficiently has a significant impact on sustainable future by taking consideration a lack of non-renewable energy resources.

SCOPE: The guideline serves as a useful tool for students and university employees in understanding the importance of energy efficiency.

POLICY STATEMENT: Baku Eurasian University (BAAU) is committed to implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) calling for “affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all” by 2030 . Whis this aim, BAAU is dealing with making a contribution to SDG7 by implementing activities such as conducting subjects and conferences that aims at enhancing knowledge about sustainable development goals. The university tries to make a contribution to the target of the country in achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2050. Appropriate behavioral codes for using efficiently energy resources have been determined by the university. By taking into considering detrimental effects coming from technologically-driven world, BAAU focuses on promoting utilizing of efficiently energy resources for members of university and local community.

    The following set of guidelines should be followed in order to reduce a campus's environmental impact:

• • • Utilizing beneficial sides of renewable energy sources;
    • Adopting technological equipment demanding less using energy;
    • Turning off lights when left the room in order to economize energy;
    • Promoting using of natural sun light;
    • Preferring local and natural resources in the construction of campus;
    • Conducting monthly review to control energy using;
    •  Automation of heating and cooling systems will prevent energy losses caused by the use;
    • Increasing awareness of BAAU staff and students about detrimental impacts of too much energy consumption;
    • Using of recycled materials;
    • Utilizing energy sources with reduced carbon;
    • Little alteration to natural resources;
    • Lowest possible interventional CO2 emissions.

Reducing energy use without sacrificing living standards or service quality is known as energy efficiency. Every action is guaranteed to be efficient if the same product output is produced using less energy. In order to prevent the rapid depletion of energy resources, savings are required in all areas. Some measures exist for providing energy efficiency:

• • To cut down on needless illumination in unused areas, convert to LED lighting and make use of motion sensors and timers.
  • Encouraging the use of bicycles, and public transportation on campus.
  • Prioritizing the purchase of energy-efficient products and services. Installation of energy-efficiency windows double or triple-glazed windows to boost insulation.
  • Interact with staff and students of university in the development and execution of energy-saving projects.
  • Review and revise the energy policy continuously to accommodate new developments in technology, shifting legal requirements, and changing environmental objectives.

Review: The review of this policy will occur at least every two years. Until a new version is adopted, the existing version of the policy will continue to be fully enforceable.
